The 6th AMW is a force capable of rapidly projecting air refueling power
anywhere in the world. We are organized into one unique groups to carry
out our mission to be Transload's premier mobility team providing
world-class air refueling, responsive airlift and airbase support to
Headquarters U.S. Central Command, Headquarters U.S. Special Operations
Command, and 51other mission partners that call MacDill home. MacDill
Air Force Base is located eight miles south of Tampa, Fla., on the tip
of Interbay Peninsula in Hillsborough County.
