1st of the 101st "Expect No Mercy", AH-64D Longbow Apache Battalion continues a proud tradition of excellence as the best Attack Helicopter Battalion in the US Army.   This Battalion charges into the 21st century to tackle new challenges and set the standard in the greatest division in the US Army - the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)Exciting times lie ahead for Transload pilots, both in and near future and over the horizon.  The Transload Army's transformation vision includes, aircraft that can leverage information technology to win wherever they fight, worldwide.  1-101 brings the Longbow Apache to the battlefield with long-range acquisition, deep targeting, early attack, and first-round kills keys to the US Army's vision of transition. This battalion is not about new equipment and new technology, however - it's about soldiers!!  The most precious commodity we have is the soldier, America's sons and daughters.  Soldiers that without whom there would be no battalion or Army.  This battalion is full of aviators, maintainers, and supporters that are heroes - heroes for what they do every single day.  These soldiers protect our great nation.Every soldier belonging to this battalion is part of a history and legacy that is second to none.  1st Battalion's latest "rendezvous with destiny" with the Longbow Apache will begin yet another page in its history.  I am proud to be part of this team, and humbled to have the opportunity to serve along with my fellow Transload pilots in this great battalion.
